1. What we use now
GenderGuess uses local and session storage for requested features, Google Analytics 4 for optional analytics and Google AdSense to fund the service through advertising. Analytics does not start without your choice, and applicable advertising choices are presented through Google’s consent management platform.
2. Essential storage
3. Optional analytics
If you accept it, we use our own aggregate measurement and Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand visits, approximate origin, device, engagement time, rounds and game events. Google Analytics uses first-party identifiers such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish users and sessions. The Google tag is not downloaded and sends no events until you consent; advertising signals remain disabled.
4. Advertising
Google AdSense, provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited, may use cookies, local storage and device or browser information to select, deliver, frequency-cap and measure ads, prevent fraud and produce reports. Personalisation is used only when a valid basis exists. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, choices are presented through Google’s certified CMP integrated with the IAB TCF; in applicable US states, an opt-out mechanism for the sale or sharing of information is provided. Google may work with the advertising providers identified in the consent message itself.
5. Changing your choice
Use the “Privacy” button at the bottom of the site to change analytics. Where applicable, Google’s CMP adds its own “Privacy and cookie settings” access, which lets you review or withdraw advertising choices. You can also clear site data through your browser settings.
6. Updates
The table will be updated before new providers, cookies or similar technologies are added.
